JOB SUMMARY:

As a direct report to the VP of Operations, the Global Operations Director acts as a key leader in the Operations group with a focus on ensuring the successful execution of key operations deliverables including strategy, planning and implementation of global low cost manufacturing and operations.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have previous experience in successful off-shore site project implementation for high volume manufacturing preferably with medical devices.


• Will develop the strategy, project plan and be responsible for the implementation of Volcano’s low cost manufacturing site and strategy.


• Previous direct responsibility for high volume manufacturing and/or engineering for Class 2 or 3 medical devices is required


• Previous project management experience is desired


• Thorough knowledge of medical device requirements and quality regulations


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to present to executive decision makers.


• Ability to independently lead a cross-functional project team


• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

EDUCATION: 

• Bachelor‘s degree is required.


•  MBA or Masters Degree desirable.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: 

Minimum of 10 years management experience in a manufacturing organization prefer medical devices.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to lead, motivate and manage large organization including matrix based teams involving other departments


• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties including Company management and outside business associates


• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills


• Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and to meet established project timelines


• Ability to maintain confidentiality


• Ability to lead, mentor and influence senior management on a regular basis.
